We hallmark our products here at Selina Whittaker jewellery using the Edinburgh Assay Office.
We have our sponsor stamp which is SW and is only visible using a 10x eye loop. We then have the Edinburgh mark after this. These marks are applied once the item has been assayed to determine that its purity conforms to standards set down by the law.
All silver jewellery weighing more than 7.78grams must be hallmarked
All gold jewellery weighing more than 1gram must be hallmarked
Anything under these weights may be described as silver or gold but without the need for a hallmark .
Taking care of your jewellery
All silver/gold products need care. Whilst not wearing, we suggest keeping you item in your Selina box for safe keeping. We also advise you not to wear any item of jewellery whilst in the shower , washing up , cleaning or any other type of manual work, as over a period of time this may damage and wear your jewellery.
Please take care and remember your jewellery is made of precious metals and the more you look after it the longer it will last.
